In February 2015, Stu was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumour. A routine biopsy showed a particularly aggressive type of brain tumour and he has been given roughly 6 months to live. He has begun courses of radiotherapy and chemotherapy and is certainly not going to go out without a fight.
He has played rugby since his early years at Tynedale RFC, growing up in Northumberland and working on the family farm with his devoted parents and two older brothers. An exceptional personality and his attitude in the face of a life-threatening illness is testimony to his drive and determination, backed up by a very positive approach to people and life!
